Inspiration4, Scholarships, Brazil: Big MoonDAO Update

Chris Sembroski of Inspiration4

Join us tomorrow for a very special town hall with Chris "Hanks" Sembroski, commercial astronaut with the Inspiration4 mission.

We’ll explore his path to space, his experiences on orbit, and what it means to carry that mission of inspiration forward.

Inspiration4 launched four years ago and was the first orbital spaceflight with only private citizens aboard. It was also part of a charitable effort on behalf of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The mission launched the SpaceX Crew Dragon Resilience with Chris, Jared Isaacman, Sian Proctor (a MoonDAO citizen), and Hayley Arceneaux on a three-day orbital mission.

Last week's town hall featured a presentation by our founder Pablo Moncada about Internet Native Organizations: Financial and Operational mediums in the age of AI.

The presentation was also given to Stripe recently about the history of DAOs and how they've evolved over the last few years, and their implications in the age of AI.

WBA Scholarship Awardees Announced

Congratulations to the winners of our vote for scholarships to participate in the World's Biggest Analog event this October.

The top three, as decided by MoonDAO voters, were Brooke Shepard, Daniela Cisternas, and Shriya Musuku. All other finalists will be receiving $500 to support their participation in this one of a kind global analog mission.

A huge thanks to everyone who entered to participate in this scholarship and to those driving space analog missions and research forward.

MoonDAO-Unity Foundation Brazil Trip

What just unfolded in Brazil was nothing short of extraordinary. With our second astronaut, Dr. Eiman Jahangir, and Russian cosmonaut Denis Matveev, we traveled through four cities alongside the Unity Foundation, bringing the spirit of space exploration to life. From visiting seven hospitals and homes for children with cancer, to speaking with doctors, students, and professors at various universities and schools, to connecting with the Brazilian Space Agency, everywhere we went, we witnessed the power of space to inspire and unite.

We also ventured to Habitat Marte, one of the Latin America's premier analog stations, gathered the local space community in Rio de Janeiro for a beachside celebration under the full moon (with a surprise visit from the rain), and started a space inspired art rocket mural with a local street artist in Foz do Iguacu. The energy, hospitality, and warmth we felt from Brazil and the Brazilian people was overwhelming, and we are deeply grateful for the welcome we received at every step.

Updates from this journey have been flowing on our Instagram, with much more still to come. This trip was profoundly impactful, and it’s hopefully only the beginning of what’s to come.

Eiman Documentary Showcase in Nashville

Eiman's inspiring outreach work continues, with the premiere of his documentary Lift Off in Nashville, Tennessee this weekend, featuring his outreach efforts to local schools and connecting with students of all ages, as well as the display of his flight suit to the local science center.

There are still a few seats left if you're in the Nashville area and want to hang out with our second astronaut and some of the MoonDAO crew.
