Habitat Marte Analog Mission Scholarships

Heads up! The deadline for submissions to the MoonDAO Space Analog Mission is March 6. We are providing three scholarships, valued at $850 USD each, for analog astronaut training at the Habitat Marte Analog Station in Brazil this April.

MoonDAO citizens can apply by submitting a short social media video application. This is a direct opportunity to train in a simulated off-world environment at the incredible facilities at Habitat Marte. If you're not yet a Citizen and want to take part, it's not too late to join!

Q1 Vote Audit

A governance and code audit identified and resolved an array mismatch in the Q1 voting data that affected the quarterly projects cycle which was our first iteration of this new voting process. With this data corrected, the updated tally found that two projects successfully passed the voting threshold which were initially denied.

Coordination is currently underway with those projects to ensure they can move forward and adjust for the late start as well as their viability with the shift in ETH prices. The Voyaj Astronaut Event in San Francisco has received approval and is officially proceeding as a project. Stay tuned for more updates, or tune in to our Q1 midterm project report.

NASA Artemis Changes

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman has announced a sweeping overhaul of the Artemis program designed to accelerate mission cadence and address ongoing development delays. The agency is canceling the Exploration Upper Stage to standardize the Space Launch System and will pivot toward commercial alternatives. This restructuring significantly alters the near-term mission manifest.

Artemis III, scheduled for 2027, will no longer land on the Moon but will instead serve as a low-Earth orbit test flight to dock Orion with Starship and Blue Moon landers. The first crewed lunar landing is now targeted for Artemis IV in 2028 with a follow up mission happening in 2028 with Artemis V. This was framed as a strategic adjustment intended to mitigate risk and establish a sustainable schedule of annual lunar flights.
