Dear Friends and Colleagues, After 40 years of interviewing astronauts about their experiences of the Overview Effect, I decided it was time for me to see the Earth from a distance myself! Working with MoonDAO and an army of supporters, we launched a fundraising campaign on March 12 to secure a flight on a stratospheric balloon, suborbital hop, or something beyond. If we raise enough funds, a member of the space community will go with me. This is an inflection point in human history. Either “Overview Thinking” or “Surface Thinking” will dominate our future. Look all around you to see what Surface Thinking produces. There is an alternative, and it’s called “Bringing the Overview Effect Down to Earth.” Our campaign ends on April 27.
