MoonDAO at New Worlds

The New Worlds Conference at NASA’s Houston Space Center was an unforgettable experience for MoonDAO and the entire space community! As a proud sponsor of this year’s event, MoonDAO brought a dynamic presence to the conference, with a table buzzing with energy, more than ten MoonDAO citizens in attendance, and had multiple speakers sharing our vision for a multiplanetary future, including our founder Pablo Moncada and our second astronaut, Dr. Eiman Jahangir.

Our community didn’t just show up; we showed out, contributing to conversations on the future of space exploration and advancing humanity’s reach beyond Earth.

From start to finish, the event was packed with highlights. MoonDAO representatives took to the stage across both days, delivering talks that sparked curiosity and conversation around decentralized space exploration. Our table served as a hub of ideas, drawing in space enthusiasts, innovators, and industry leaders, all eager to learn more about MoonDAO’s mission and the potential of DAOs in space tech.

One of the weekend’s standout moments was the Space Cowboy Ball, an awesome celebration that brought together the community in style. Attendees danced, networked, and reflected on the inspiring talks and experiences of the weekend. It was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do — bringing people together who dream of humanity’s place among the stars.

We are especially grateful to Rick Tumlinson and the EarthLight Foundation for organizing an event that was equal parts vision and heart. Connecting with like-minded organizations and individuals made it clear that MoonDAO is part of a thriving ecosystem that’s deeply invested in making our multiplanetary future in space a reality as we settle new worlds.

Bite-Sized Space News

NASA and SpaceX Take Flight

A Cargo Dragon spacecraft is set for its fifth journey to the International Space Station, carrying over 6,000 pounds of science and supplies. This is another exciting resupply mission by SpaceX and NASA.

Dive into the live coverage of the cargo resupply mission.

China's Shenzhou Crews

China’s Shenzhou 18 crew handed over the Tiangong space station to the newly arrived Shenzhou 19 astronauts, marking a smooth transition. Shenzhou 19 launched on October 29 and docked at Tiangong after a 6.5-hour journey, where Shenzhou 18 commander Ye Guangfu symbolically passed a key to Shenzhou 19 commander Cai Xuzhe on November 1. This new crew, which includes China’s youngest astronauts and its only female spaceflight engineer, Wang Haoze, will spend six months conducting 86 scientific experiments and spacewalks. Among the notable experiments is a test of a brick made from lunar soil simulant, which will arrive later in November to evaluate its durability in space.

China's Shenzhou 18 crew returned home safely on November 3 after more than six months aboard the Tiangong space station. Astronauts Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu landed at the Dongfeng site in northern China at 12:24 p.m. EST (1724 GMT), marking only the second nighttime landing at this location, which used infrared imaging for tracking. During their mission, the crew conducted various scientific experiments, including research on ancient microbes, set a national record with spacewalks, and installed shielding to protect Tiangong from debris. Their return followed a handover ceremony on November 1 with the Shenzhou 19 crew, ensuring the station remains continuously occupied.

MoonDAO's Flag in Space MoonDAO's flag has officially flown in space for the very first time—albeit a miniature version! Eiman carried a small, pocket-sized MoonDAO flag aboard the NS-26 launch and brought it out at apogee. We’ve been gradually releasing highlights from Eiman's incredible journey as MoonDAO’s second astronaut. The day after his flight, we gathered in El Paso for his first post-flight interview, capturing his thoughts and emotions as his lifelong dream of space travel came...
