Celebrating 140+ Citizens!

Upcoming Events

We've got some great events coming up in the next few weeks...

Join us tomorrow (8/14) for an exclusive conversation with planetary science legend Alan Stern, the man who led NASA’s New Horizons mission to Pluto. This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the most influential figures in modern space exploration.

The following week (8/21), you'll have a chance to meet the applicants for the World's Biggest Analog scholarships, and the community will vote on awardees.

Then on 8/28 we'll have a chat with our second astronaut, Dr. Eiman Jahangir, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his flight to space!

Missed last week's conversation with Pete Worden? Catch the recording below.

140+ Citizens

The Space Acceleration Network has seen a flurry of activity the past few weeks, with new Citizens joining from all over the world. We have just crossed the 140 Citizen milestone.

Those Citizens come from at least 21 countries and across 5 continents (browse the map). Citizenry is composed of approximately 30% women and 70% men (explore the directory). Meet a few of our newest Citizens below:

The bigger we grow, the more impact we can have across the space sector.

As a reminder, Citizens get:

  • Ability to submit independent space work for retroactive community rewards, including for ETH financial rewards and vMOONEY voting power.
  • Access to the jobs board with listings from leading organizations in the space industry, including publicly traded companies, non-profits, and startups.
  • 10% discount for any item in the MoonDAO Marketplace where you'll find listings from those same teams, including event tickets, astronaut training opportunities, swag, space art, and more.

Reward Pool Update

Last week, we shared a call for new projects and proposals during Q3.

As a reminder, we distribute 5% of liquid assets in the treasury for projects completed during that quarter, with individual project distribution amounts determined by MoonDAO voters. That 5% allocation amounts to 17 ETH for Q3 which is currently worth about $80,000!

There will be a number of proposals going up this week during Town Hall, and there's still time to submit your idea for Q3!
